“A firm decision to do or not to do something”. Every year, as it comes to a close and a new one nears, practically everyone makes the classic New Year’s resolutions. But that’s not what this post is about because quite frankly, I didn’t bother making any.
If you’re a university student, then you probably know the struggle I faced a few weeks ago. Asides from the usual semester-end project deadlines and finals season stress, there’s course selection. And let me tell you, it has genuinely been a pain this time around. I was told by an academic advisor to not even bother taking classes next semester, because there was nothing that worked with my work schedule, and all the ones that did, I didn’t need the class. I couldn’t even opt to take the next level of courses because I was just one credit short. Yes, one.
Downtown, where Vancouver suddenly looks a little bit like the concrete jungle. If you were to ask me years ago about where I would want to live, it was definitely in the downtown core. It’s here where you feel that your city never sleeps. Would I want to settle in the business district now? Probably not, but I still want to spend just a little while experiencing day-to-day life here.
I complain about the weather a lot (if you haven’t already noticed). I sometimes question if I’m suited to be living in Canada simply because I live in the warmest city in this country during the winter months, and I still complain about it lol. In case you weren’t aware, it has pretty much rained every day since October 1st (not even completely exaggerating). We even broke a record in October. And now suddenly it’s December. I’m crying.
Let’s talk socially acceptable onesies. Who doesn’t love them? Whether it’s a jumper or a romper, they are my favourite go-to when I’m struggling to pick something to wear because they look so “fancy”, but they’re so effortless.
I miss shorts and tanks, sockless shoes, warm summer nights, and most of all… rainless days. October here in Vancouver was just endless rain, but thankfully November has been looking pretty okay. Fall has just flown by, and Winter feels like it’s peeking way too close around the corner.
