I definitely don’t brand myself as a foodie or anything like that, but I appreciate food. And I can most definitely appreciate a good event. And lemme tell you, I ate my way through this one.

For those of you that don’t know, Glowbal Restaurant Group has taken the Lower Mainland by storm since 2002. Some of your favourite restaurants are probably one of their nine brands including Trattoria, Black + Blue, their flagship Glowbal (my favourite brunch spot), and Italian Kitchen.

If you’ve heard of Italian Kitchen, then you would know that it called Alberni street home for like a decade, but starting today, it has relocated to 860 Burrard Street. The new Italian Kitchen location is beautiful, giving you an “old world charm” and “new world vibe”, as Glowbal’s website accurately puts it.

Last night I attended the opening event, and I’m serious when I say that I ate my way through it. I had way too many delicious canapés to count and let’s not talk about how many mini desserts I tried (I have a separate stomach for desserts, okay?). And meanwhile, I was constantly walking around with an Aperol Spritz in hand.

Glowbal really knows how to take care of its guests, I can assure you of that. Every dining experience I’ve had with them at any of their restaurants are always met with gracious staff, and just a general feeling of warmth and hospitality. Our night at Italian Kitchen was no different, from the moment we were greeted at the door, all the way to when I picked my jacket up from coat check – there was always someone making sure that I was being taken care of.

Have you been to one of Glowbal’s restaurants? If you’re craving Italian food, be sure to check out the new Italian Kitchen, now open at 860 Burrard St., Vancouver. Thank you, Glowbal, for hosting us last night!
